How do insurance companies define Florida Body Shop Insurance?

Paint shops are not limited to painting, but also include rustproofing or coating exposures that require Florida Body Shop Insurance.

Have a Quick Question?

What risk exposure do Body Shop have?

Property Exposures
Is from fire because of the paints, chemicals, solvents or other flammables. These must be properly labeled, stored and separated. Painting, coating and rustproofing should be in approved spray booths with good ventilation, protected wiring and adequate controls. Another reason why Florida Body Shop Insurance is important.

Inland Marine
Exposure comes from goods in transit. Employees will run errands to pick up various items that are needed and transport them back to the operations. Values will vary, based on parts needed. The radius will also vary but tend to be local.

Crime Exposures
Are from Employee Dishonesty and money and securities. In Florida all ordering and inventory control should be handled by different individuals in order to provide adequate checks and balances. There should be inventory control procedures in order to prevent employee theft. Cash should be maintained by a cashier with money regularly deposited.

Premises liability
Exposure is from slip and falls by customers. There is also the attractive nuisance of cars in the parking lots. Florida customer waiting areas should be provided, and customers must be not be permitted in the garage area.

Lots should be well lighted with chains in place to prevent entrance after hours.

Environmental Impairment Exposures
Can have serious concerns from the disposal of waste paints, solvents and other hazardous or toxic substances. Disposal procedures need careful review.

Automobile exposures
Are from errand running to pick up needed supplies. All Florida drivers should have valid licenses and their MVRs regularly checked. If towing takes place, a more serious exposure exists. All tow drivers must be experienced in towing. Vehicles must be regularly checked, in particular the hoists and tow bars.

Garage Keepers Exposure
Comes from the physical damage losses to customers’ vehicles while in the repair shop’s care, custody and control. Lots must be well lighted and chains should be in place to prevent transport. Fences and other security also may be appropriate.

Workers Compensation
Losses occur most often from injuries sustained during the lifting of a vehicle by hoists, jacks,
and other mechanical means. When lifting is done with non-mechanical devices, the results are often back injury,
sprains, strains or hernias. Fumes and vapors from the painting operations are a concern.
